Keep it a game

Free, and still 18+

A berth here sounds, looks and times itself the way a real gambling machine does, because that is what it was built from. That is why Ember Wharf is for adults at or over the legal gambling age, and why nothing on it is aimed at anyone under 18. You are asked twice: on the strip across the top, and again as a box you tick when the account is made.

What this wharf will not do

• Run, advertise or recommend gambling for money.
• Hand out anything that holds value past the gate.
• Put coins on the manifest at any price.
• Carry a link to a casino, a bookmaker or an affiliate of either.
• Run a clock or a streak designed to bring you back tomorrow.

Said straight

A free machine can be set to feel warmer than a paid one, and when the float runs out we top it up for nothing. Neither of those is true where money is involved. However a shift here treats you, it predicts nothing about a machine that takes cash.

Worth catching early

• You meant to knock off an hour ago.
• Stopping leaves you short-tempered.
• You come here to get out from under something.
• Sleep, work or the people around you are losing time to it.
• You have started looking for the version of this with money in it.

Staying on top of it

• Decide how long you are staying before the first spin, not during.
• Leave the auto button alone.
• Step off the quay now and then.
• Clearing this site's data resets everything; to stop for good, block the site in your device settings.
